Description

MoldTools3D – Injection Mold Design on Autodesk® AutoCAD®

Overview

Create, edit, and draw custom and library mold base configurations.

Custom mold bases for an unlimited number of sizes, plates and mold configurations in inches and millimeters.

Mold base libraries for USA and European standards.

Editable parametric files for mold components in inches and millimeters.

Custom dimensional options for some mold components.

Mold bases and components are created at insertion as AutoCAD® 3D Solids objects.

Additional commands for copying and deleting components, including their clearances and parameters.

Functions to easily create water lines and insertion of standard pressure plugs.

Bill of Materials functions to create, edit, configure and represent BOM.

Auxiliary functions to solids subtract and visualization of mold parts, plates and components.

Mold Bases

CREATE command to create and save new mold bases' configurations.

EDIT command to edit dimensions and data of a mold base configuration file.

DRAW command to draw mold bases with data from a configuration file.

Custom mold bases with limitless configuration options.

DME US mold bases library that fully supports configurations for A, B, AX, T, X5p, and X6p Series.

DME and Hasco metric "K Series" mold base library with up to seven different configurations.

Mold bases' plates and components are drawn as native AutoCAD 3D Solids at insertion, not blocks, inserts, or external objects brought to the drawing.

Library mold bases include screws, guiding systems, return pins, and other components.

Mold Components

INSERT, COPY, and DELETE mold component functions.

Insert a function to add components to the mold base.

Components are drawn from parametric geometry files.

Parametric files in both inches and metric are available for screws, guidance, ejection system components, dowels, and more.

Components are generated as native AutoCAD 3D Solids upon insertion.

Clearances, offsets, gaps, and other parameters can be set for each individual insertion.

Some components can also be entirely custom defined to specific dimensional parameters.

Threads on screws or other threaded components are fully defined in 3D on the components and all the mold parts affected by the insertion.

Copy the command to copy components, including clearances and insertion parameters.

Delete command to delete components, including clearances and insertion parameters.

Special Functions

Water lines command to easily draw water lines on the mold.

Fully automatic function to draw any standard pressure plugs on water lines.

Face thread to draw threaded holes on the plates' sides.

Bill of Materials

BOM functions provide the way to configure the appearance, edition, and insertion of a mold's database table.

The BOM edit function is also used to register in the mold's database parts, such as cavities and cores, that are not automatically drawn by the application.

Additional Functions

Additional functions for objects' subtraction and managing the showing or hiding of assemblies, plates and components.
