Click the TotalLength ribbon icon or type TotalL/TotalA in the command line to open the TotalLength dialog/TotalArea dialog.

Check the types of objects to be included in the TotalLength/TotalArea calculation. Check ALL LENGTH OBJECTS/ARCS in the TotalLength dialog to include all objects with a 'Length' or 'Arc length' property when opened in the Properties Bar. Check ALL AREA OBJECTS in the TotalArea dialog to include all objects with an 'Area' property when opened in the Properties Bar. Unchecking a type of object while ALL... is checked excludes this type from the selection, i.e. the selection contains all objects with the desired property except those of the unchecked type.

Objects of a checked type that don't have the necessary Length/Area property are skipped. On closing the 'TotalLength'/'TotalArea' dialog another dialog lists the skipped objects. Buttons COPY CORRUPTED TO CLIPBOARD and COPY CORRUPTED TO LAYER TotalLength Corruped Objects are offered. Press the first button to copy the skipped objects to the clipboard. Press the second button to copy the skipped objects in their original coordinates but in a special layer named TotalLength Corruped Objects. The objects in this layer are ignored by the TotalLength+ commands (they are not included in the area/length calculations).

Check the Insert labels box and set the Text height value accordingly to your drawing if you want each selected object to be labeled with its length/area.

Click the Select objects button to make a selection. Use whatever selection method you want, TotalLength+ filters only the objects of the desired types. Right-click or press ENTER to confirm your selection is ready. The TotalLength/TotalArea dialog is opened again, and the total length/area of the selected objects appears in the TOTAL LENGTH/TOTAL AREA field. The value can be copied to the clipboard. Click the Select objects button again for another TotalLength/TotalArea calculation.

Select the type(s) of the specification table(s) if you need any. The following tables are available:

• By Layer - lists the total length/area of the selected objects of each layer
• By Color - lists the total length/area of the selected objects of each color. Index colors are represented by a number, true colors - by RGB list, color books - by name
• By Type - lists the total length/area of the selected objects of each type
• By Length/By Area - lists the various lengths/areas and the number of the selected objects of each length/area

Click the INSERT LIST(S) button to insert the selected specification table(s)in your drawing or click the OK button to exit the TotalLength/TotalArea dialog without inserting tables. The value in the 'Text Height' box and the current table style is used for the tables. You can also press the INSERT LIST(S) button while no objects are selected.

All the values returned by TotalLength+ are of the current Unit type and with the current Unit precision.

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
