7cad Polyline Area
Digitally signed app
Description
This app reads your drawing, and finds and pairs two types of objects:
1st: Polyline to calculate area or length. The circle is also supported
2nd: Tag block: contains attributes to show polyline area value. If a tag block is placed inside a polyline, they are a pair.
In case you want to pair a tag block that is not placed inside a polyline, you should use a leader to connect them.
So, to get on with the workflow, firstly, you have to set up your drawing properly:
+ Polylines to calculate areas should be on specific layers.
+ If not yet exist, create a Tag block with attributes to store polyline area values using the Autodesk® AutoCAD® BLOCK command.
+ For each polyline, insert a tag block. The tag block should be placed inside the polyline or connected with the polyline by a leader. Leaders should be placed in specific layers.
Next, run the 7cadPlineAreaSetup command. On the setup window, fill in all the fields to instruct the app how to read your drawing: tag block's name, leader's layer name, attribute's tag polyline's layer name, etc.
Note that 7cad Polyline Area supports showing area values of up to two polylines on one tag block. Therefore, there are two attribute config sections on the Setup window.
Finally, run the 7cadPlineArea command. You will be asked to select polylines. After the selection, for each polyline, the app will find the paired tag block.
Once polylines and tag blocks are read and paired, the app populates all polylines's area values to specified attributes in their paired tag blocks.
