Description

Creates an hypocyclic helical rotor and stator. Moineau pumps are often used for pumping viscous media, such as mud, clay, slurries, because as progressive cavity mechanisms, they pump the same volume regardless of inlet/outlet pressure or viscosity.

The rotor will typically need a shaft added. See the provided links below for various solutions to eccentrically driving the rotor.

The generated stator is actually the solid model of the stator cavity. As the stator is frequently molded out of silicone, this allows the user to use the generated model for creating the mold tool, as well as latitude in creating the external stator geometry (from which the generated stator body can be cut via a Boolean operation).

  • Easy to use.

I was very excited to find this as I  have been wanting to make some progressive cavity pumps.  When I installed Moineau I was expecting to find it in CREATE. However to use it you must go to UTILITIES and select SCRIPTS.  This might be a problem for others who are new to Fusion.  I'm astonished that this app is free as it is so useful and easy to use.  I'd like to see the app expanded to make georotor pumps and conical screw pumps.

Currently at my Mastersdegree and designed and build many Pumps manually because the program wasn't published yet. This would have saved me some hours but well. It's there now and works very well! espacially for pump designs with more Lobes.

  • Perfect for rotor/stator design

Designed a stator by hand only to find this program afterward, and it produced every bit as good a product in only seconds. Love the modular aspect

  • Best app I've ever written (so far).

Testing the review process only.  Clearly I'm biased :)
