Opis

The original AutoSave add-in for Autodesk® Inventor®

AutoSave is an add-in that runs in the background of Inventor and saves the documents to the location you choose at customizable intervals.

Select an interval at which time the program will run a save command for either the current document, all visible documents or all open documents. These can then be saved to the document's original location or a custom location of your choice.

Choose how many versions you wish to retain or how long you wish to keep the saved versions. You can also choose whether or not the files get removed during a manual save in order to keep unused files to a minimum.

On restore, the program will treat the saved version similar to how Inventor treats files in the "Old Versions" folder. You can open the saved file as a read-only document, restore it to the current version, or open the document from which it was originally derived.

  • Didn't work well for me
    Daniel Buzinari | lipca 23, 2025

It does not support multiple Inventor applications open (not tabs, the app itself). A few users in my company prefer to have multiple instances, as we work with several small jobs. If that's the case for you, it won't work. Additionally, it appears to have issues working with Vault. Usually, I get files from Vault and just check out the components I need. Since installing the app, I receive multiple messages stating that the files are read-only,  it keeps popping the message until it reaches a point where Inventor crashes.

  • They allwayse told us autosave is not possible in 3D!

I am testing it from some days and it woks perfectly even with our PDM database.

We use AutoCAD and Inventor. When AutoCAD crashes you can recover your work. Autodesk allways told us it is not possible in a 3D environment to make an automatic save without slowing your work.

I am going to notify about this utility to my reseller to have it his tools.

  • Saved my bacon

Inventor crashed after I hadn't saved all day (I know, shame on me). Was able to restore the latest auto saved version and carried on without incident.
