What can I do with Drawing Sync?
Join a Network or Cloud workshare
Quickly accept workshare invites in a few clicks. When you join a workshare, drawings are downloaded to a local repository (version history) and copied to a project folder on your device. You are then free to unplug from the network or Internet as you work.
Collaborate Like a Pro:
- Sync when you are ready to share your changes.
- Sync when you want updates from others.
- Publish when you are ready to share your work with other teams.
- Compare and merge changes with distributed version history.
Synchronize simultaneous changes to the same drawing
A project can include multiple drawings and subfolders. If you add, edit, or delete a drawing and sync, others get your update when they synchronize. It is simple if everyone works in-turn.
Changing the same drawing at the same time, however, results in a file conflict. This is where Drawing Sync offers a unique merge solution, breaking down the notion that automatic merging is not possible for Autodesk® AutoCAD® Drawings.
Create a workshare (Admin)
As an admin, you create a central workshare (either on your network, or in the cloud). Next, and select Manage Workshares to invite team members.
Maintain drawing history
Track project folders in a local repository (version control). Your history can track a central workshare, track a shared folder (shared network drive or desktop connector), or a project folder that is available only to you. In History, you can view, restore, compare, and create DWPs.
Create and Import DWP Drawing Patch files
DWP files detail changes that you have made to your drawings. A patch is a text file that provides detailed data for updated, deleted, or added objects. Drawing patches can be created for your current drawing session, with your previous save, or from drawing history.
Entities that are added (appended) in the patch can be imported by others.
Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).
