The SketchUp Import plug-in adds a command to the ribbon allowing you to import SKP files into Autodesk® AutoCAD® from local or shared folders.

General Usage Instructions

Click Add-ins tab > Import SKP File, or enter IMPORTSKP, to display the Select SKP File dialog box.

  1. Navigate to and select a SketchUp file in a local or shared folder.
  2. Click Open to import the file as a block.
  3. Specify an insertion point, or click the drawing area to place the block in a drawing.

Imports a SketchUp file into the current drawing as a block reference.


The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.

You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in.


If you have an older version of the plugin already installed in your computer, the new plugin will override it. 

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

Known Issues

SketchUp backup (*.SKB) files are not supported by this plug-in.
