General Usage Instructions

1) Install the plugin; Open Autodesk® AutoCAD® and you will be able to see ID Spec menu in the ribbon.

2) Start using the ID Spec Plugin by creating a new project.

3) Enter the project name, file name and select the building layout on which you need to create electrical architecture.

4) Enter the project parameters, the Layout properties for your building (accept the default values if you are not sure)

5) Now, scale your layout; for this select the Scale button from the ribbon and select the entity where the scale is mentioned and enter the desired scale in meters only.

6) Placement of Loads: You should see the ID spec Palette appearing; start placing the Loads. You can either place a point Load or area Load accordingly.

7) Barycenter creation for optimal location of MV/LV Switchboard: When you place more than 2 loads in the system, Barycenter is created.

8) Create as many Barycenters as you want by selecting a set of loads and using create barycenter.

9) Now, complete your electrical network by placing: Sub distribution boards, Main Low voltage distribution board, MV/LV Transformer, MV Switch board and finally MV Source.

10) Click on validation to detect for any logical error and then click on calculate.

11) You can now visualize various reports and visualizations generated by ID spec Plugin (Refer the embedded video for information).

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when downloaded this plug-in from Autodesk App Store has already installed the plug-in. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8/8.1/10) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

Requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2.

Known Issues

Refresh of the workspace may be required to view the ID Spec Ribbon.

For proper installation of latest version, we suggest the users to un-install the previous version of the ID Spec and install the latest version.

Note: If you are uninstalling the application through the installer, you may receive a warning message at the end of the uninstallation process, rest assured and press ok to uninstall.
