Provides the ability to find or replace the name of the Timeliner task and to connect the Model Item(s) to the task.

General Usage Instructions

A. Features of the Timeliner Task Find/Replace App

Modeless support: The dialog supports modeless support for interacting with Model Items or Timeliner tasks in Autodesk® Navisworks®.

Various filter searches: Filters can be searched in Timeliner by name, range, task type, user definition, etc. The results show only the items found in the tree control.

Rename Task: This function supports only the name filter and changes the searched string.

Connect / Disconnect Model Item: Supports linking task items in the tree control to Model Item(s) in Navisworks (Note: model connection only supports 'explicit connection' method)

 

B. How to use?

1. Find and replace the name of the Timeliner task

  • Enter a search string to display the search results directly to the tree control.
  • Enter the value in a replace string and it immediately displays the change in the tree control.
  • Click on the Replace button to complete the changes in the dialog.
  • Click the Save button to apply the changes to Navisworks.
  • Clicking the Cancel button does not apply the changes to Navisworks.

 

2. Connecting Timeliner task items and model items

  • Select Model Item in Navisworks Selection Tree or Model View.
  • Select the item to connect in the tree control and right-click to connect the Model Item.
  • Click the Save button to apply the changes to Navisworks.
  • Clicking the Cancel button does not apply the changes to Navisworks.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
