AstraPlant IFC Exporter

AstraPlant IFC Exporter

Win64, English

AstraPlant
Export your Autodesk models to IFC format seamlessly. Streamline your BIM workflows with reliable IFC data exchange.

General Usage Instructions

1. Launch the IFC Exporter Commands:

Open your Autodesk® AutoCAD® drawing (or Autodesk® AutoCAD® Plant 3D™ and Autodesk® AutoCAD® MEP drawing).

Access the IFC Exporter commands via the AutoCAD command line or potentially a dedicated ribbon/toolbar (if implemented). Key commands include:

  • IFCExporterAutoEXPORT: For quick exports with default/saved settings.
  • IFCExporterMANUALEXPORT: For exports requiring specific, on-the-fly configuration.
  • IFCExporterProject: For exporting multiple files or project structures.
  • IFCExporterUNITS: To pre-configure or check unit settings for export.
  • IFCExporterSETTINGS: To adjust general export parameters and save default configurations.

2. Configure Export Settings (Optional but Recommended):

  • Use the IFCExporterSETTINGS command to access the Settings window. Define default parameters like the target IFC schema (IFC2x3, IFC4, IFC2x2), export configurations, etc.
  • Use the IFCExporterUNITS command to precisely define the measurement units for your exported IFC file, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

3. Initiate IFC Export:

  • Choose your desired export command (IFCExporterAutoEXPORT, IFCExporterMANUALEXPORT, or IFCExporterProject).
  • If using Manual or Project export, a dialog window (ManualExportView or UnitsView respectively) will appear, allowing you to confirm or adjust settings for the current export task.
  • Follow the prompts in the dialog window to select objects (if applicable) and finalize export parameters.

4. Save the IFC File:

  • Once the export process is configured, you will typically be prompted to specify a file name and location to save the resulting .ifc file.
  • Click "Save" or "Export" to generate the IFC file.

5. Utilize the Exported IFC:

  • The generated IFC file can now be imported into other BIM authoring tools or platforms that support the chosen IFC schema (IFC2x3, IFC4, or IFC2x2).
  • Share the IFC file with collaborators for coordination, review, or integration into larger BIM projects.
