The SketchUp Import plug-in adds a command to the ribbon allowing you to import SKP files into AutoCAD® from local or shared folders.

General Usage Instructions

Click Add-ins tab > Import SKP File, or enter IMPORTSKP, to display the Select SKP File dialog box.

Note: In AutoCAD 2015 and earlier, apps are located on the Plug-ins tab.

  1. Navigate to and select a SketchUp file in a local or shared folder.
  2. Click Open to import the file as a block.
  3. Specify an insertion point, or click the drawing area to place the block in a drawing.

IMPORTSKP

Imports a SketchUp file into the current drawing as a block reference.

Installation/Uninstallation

The SketchUp Import plug-in is included with the installation of AutoCAD.

Note:

If you have an older version of the plugin already installed in your computer, the new plugin won't override it. Instead 2016-2018 version will coexist with the previous version.

To uninstall this plug-in, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8/8.1/10) or Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP), and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

Additional Information

Known Issues

SketchUp backup (*.SKB) files are not supported by this plug-in.
