Quick, accurate generation of GT timing pulleys from 20 teeth to 400 teeth.

General Usage Instructions

  1. To generate a new timing pulley component, from the Autodesk® Fusion® design surface, select the "Solid" tab, select "Create," and choose the "Create GT Pulley" menu item.
  2. The "Create GT Pulley" dialog will appear, choose from the following options:
    1. Pulley Type: choose GT2 or GT3.
    2. Number of Teeth: enter a whole number for the number of teeth.
    3. Pulley Width: pulley width in mm.
    4. Hole Diameter: optional hole diameter in mm or 0. 
    5. Flange Width: optional flange width in mm or 0. 
  3. Computed Values:
    1. Pitch Diameter: top of tooth plus PLD dimension diameter.
    2. Base Diameter: bottom of tooth diameter.
    3. Overall Width: width of pulley plus optional flange width (x2).
  4. Click "OK" to generate the timing pulley.

Installation/Uninstallation

This ADD-IN is installed from the Fusion Autodesk App Store.

INSTALLATION:

Install the "Generate GT Timing Pulley" Add-In

  1. Within the Fusion app, on the design surface, click on the "Utilities" tab.
  2. Click the ADD-INS down arrow and choose the "Fusion App Store" menu item.
  3. Sign in if required
  4. In the Search Apps text field, search for "Generate GT Timing Pulley".
  5. Click on the "Generate GT Timing Pulley" app.
  6. Install the app from the downloaded installer and continue.

 

Enable the Add-In:

  1. Within the Fusion app, on the design surface, click on the "Utilities" tab and click on the "Add-Ins" tab.
  2. When the "Scripts and Add-Ins" dialog opens, click on the "Add-Ins" tab.
  3. Select the "GenerateGTTimingPulley" add-in, click the "Run" button if enabled and optionally select the "Run on Startup" checkbox.

 

UNINSTALLATION:

  • Uninstall the "GenerateGTTimingPulley" add-in from the "Add or Remove Programs" applet in Windows.

Additional Information

Known Issues

Timeline Group may not appear: When inserting multiple pulley components, the timeline group for the new component may not appear. 

Workaround: Save the design, close it, and reopen the design. The timeline groups will appear normally.
