BlockDescImporter will populate the Descriptions of any/all Blocks in a drawing by defining the list of Blocks, and their corresponding Descriptions, in a TXT file.

This is particularly helpful should you wish to merge individual Block drawings into a single DWG to consolidate your support files and make it easier to distribute CAD Standards resources.

It can also be used to update the Descriptions in existing drawings should they change over time.

The TXT file is a simple, comma separated list of “BlockName, BlockDescription”.

Everything after the first comma in each line is treated as part of the description so basic special characters like commas and quotes can be used in the description.

BlockDescImporter will also warn you if a Block that was defined in the TXT file was not found within the current drawing.

The installer that ran when you downloaded this plug-in from Autodesk App Store has already installed the plug-in. You may need to restart Autodesk Product to activate the plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8/8.1/10) or Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP), and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

If DLL file is transferred via email/internet (not using the installer from Autodesk App Store) then .NET4.0 security restrictions may block the program’s use. If this occurs, the DLL will need to be unblocked via the file properties in order to load/run the program.
