Overview of Functionality

MatchAttProp is a high-performance utility designed to copy attribute properties between block references with precision. This tool eliminates the manual effort required to synchronize formatting across complex blocks, allowing you to select a source and apply its properties to multiple targets in one step. This tool specifically targets attribute data within block references, allowing for bulk updates that maintain drawing standards across complex projects.
 

Command Workflow:

1. Launch: Enter MATCHATTPROP at the Autodesk® AutoCAD® command line.
2. Source Selection: Click the Pick Block button and select the block reference containing your desired formatting. A visual snapshot of the selected source block will appear in the preview window to confirm your selection.
3. Property Selection: Within the interface, check the boxes for the specific properties you wish to transfer. You can selectively choose properties to ensure only necessary changes are made.
4. Match Visible Attributes Only Option: Enable this to protect hidden or non-graphical background data, the command will only affect attributes currently visible in the drawing.
5. Sync Attribute Values: Beyond copying the visual style, this option allows the actual text content of the source attribute to be copied to matching tags in the target blocks.
6. Apply to Targets: Click Apply and select your destination blocks. The tool automatically identifies matching attribute tags and updates them instantly before exiting the command.

Supported Properties:

• General Properties: Synchronize Layer, Color, Linetype, Lineweight, and Visibility settings.
• Text Formatting: Match the Text Style, Height, Rotation, Width Factor, and Oblique Angle.
• Geometric Precision: Align the Relative Position (offset from the block base point), Justification, and Alignment Point.
• Content: Text String synchronization for matching tags.

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system
