General Usage Instructions
RUNNING THE COMMAND
Open a dialog box to select files. The dialog box defaults to the directory the current drawing is in. The user can select one or multiple files.
After the files are selected, the FRTX dialog is shown.
First type the text to find in the "Find box", and then the text to replace in the "Replace with" box, then click find.
The results will be displayed in the list below.
By pressing the “Replace All” button, all references in all listed entries will be replaced. Rows highlighted green will be updated when the user presses the Apply button.
REPLACING SPECIFIC ENTRIES
If the user only wants to update specific entries, the user selects those rows and presses the “Replace Selected” button.
Note that the “Current Text” Column has been updated only on the entries the user selected, as well as highlighted green.
Shown below, only the selected text entries are updated.
EDITING RESULTS IN PLACE
To edit a field directly, double-click on the row of the entry you wish to edit, in the Preview/Edit column. There, a small text box will appear, allowing you to enter text.
When editing the TEXT in place, the “Replace With” does not matter, and you can put anything directly in the field.
After pressing “Replace Selected”, the user can see that the “Current Text” for these entries have changed as needed.
After pressing “Apply”, the user can see the entries in the drawing have been updated.
MATCHING WHOLE WORD RESULTS ONLY
In the next example, the “Match Whole Word Only” checkbox is selected, which alters how results are displayed. When this box is checked, the “Current Text” Column will only update when the entire word matches what the user searched for.
