General Usage Instructions

Show the menu bar in your Autodesk® AutoCAD® application

Before you start using the 3DPiping (Ductile) plug-in, please make sure you have the menu bar in your AutoCAD application enabled. Note that the menu bar is not displayed by default. To display it, you can perform one of the below steps:

  • At the top-left of the AutoCAD application window, on the right end of the Quick Access toolbar, click the “Customize Quick Access Toolbar” drop-down menu, then click “Show Menu Bar” (show me how).
  • Alternatively, you can run the AutoCAD command MENUBAR and enter the value of 1 to enable the menu bar.

Insert 3DPiping blocks in a drawing

Click on the “3DPiping_ductile” menu in the AutoCAD menu bar, navigate through the menu items, and click on a selected piping component - a block will be inserted into your drawing. Installation/Uninstallation

To install the 3DPiping plug-in, run the installer that you downloaded from the Autodesk App Store and follow an installation wizard. You may need to restart your AutoCAD application to load the plug-in.

Once the plug-in has been installed, you will need to activate it. To activate the plug-in, open the “3DPiping_ductile” menu in the AutoCAD menu bar, and click on the “Activate” menu item – the plug-in activation wizard will pop up. Please follow the steps provided in the wizard to generate a serial number and obtain a license from the publisher.

You can run the software in the non-activated mode until the grace period has expired. You have 15 days to activate the plug-in.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, then, simply rerun the installer and select the "Uninstall" button. Alternatively, you can navigate to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10/11) and uninstall the plug-in as you would uninstall any other application from your system.

Additional Information

Please check for our plug-in updates in Autodesk App Store from time to time, as we might have expanded our block library with new piping elements. Updates (excluding the major releases) come free of charge. Furthermore, please feel free to contact us and tell what pipe fittings that you are interested in are missing in the library - depending on the market needs, we may add new blocks on demand.

You may also be interested in our other plug-ins – “3DPiping (EN)” and “3DPiping (ASME)”. They contain 3D piping components (drawing blocks) that are based on the EN (Euro Norm) and ASME standards.

For volume licensing, please contact us at contact@3dpiping.net.

Known Issues

Starting with AutoCAD 2014 and later versions, if SECURELOAD system variable is activated, you may see a dialog that warns you about the unsigned executable files when loading the installed plug-in for the first time. This is because our delivered plug-in libraries are not digitally signed. If you see that warning, please accept it by clicking on the “Always Load” button, however, please make sure that you are accepting the libraries that come from the “3DPiping_DUCTILE.bundle” folder. It is important that you only install and use our plug-in that was downloaded from Autodesk App Store, which is a trusted source.
