CIR2VECT – Circle to Vectored polygonWin32 and 64, English
General Usage Instructions
In the Layer list, pick the output layer for the converted circles to polygons or pick the ‘circle’s current layer’ to place the polygon once created on the same layer as the selected circle(s).
Pick one of the three operations to specify or calculate how to convert circle(s) into polygons. See section 3 operations to perform below for details on each operation.
Select either Inscribe to create the polygon within the original circle or the Circumscribe radio button to create the polygon outside of the original circle object (draw a shape around circle object).
Check the Delete Circles check box to erase the original circles after they are converted or uncheck to preserve.
Pick the OK button and a prompt appears.
PROMPT: Select objects: Pick single or multiple circle objects and press <Enter> when done selecting.
Use the Number of Segments option and enter the number of sides / segments to use when creating the polygon. Using 3 segments for example would create a Triangle shape. The more segments used, and depending on the measured size of the circle, the smoother the resultant polygon will be.
Use the Central Angle option to use a formula (Number of segments = integer of 360 / angle) to calculate the number of segments to be drawn based on the value of central angle input. Type a value in degrees and the program will calculate the number of segments to create.
Use the Deviation option to specify the deviation polygons can be from the original circle. The smaller the value (distance), the more segments it will create. The larger the measured distance, the fewer segments will be created. The segments created will be within the original circle.
