Commands

Ribbon/Toolbar Icon Command Command Description

DIMSETEXTEND

Modifies length of dimension extension lines. There are two options: Synchronize: If two dimensions have same extension line locations but with different length you can synchronize their length. Specify shorter or longer extension line to follow. Extend: You can specify new length of extension line. Pick extension line to modify or eventually you can modify more points by crossing line. Pick first point by holding CTRL and then pick second point.

DIMSETSELECT

Add dimension set into Autodesk® AutoCAD® selection set. You can use then other AutoCAD command to manipulate dimension set as one object (for example DELETE, MOVE etc.)

DIMSETMOVE

Move base line of dimension set. Select one dimension of dimension set and pick a new position of base line.

DIMSETDELETE

Delete point from dimension set. Select one dimension of dimension set and pick point to be deleted. Eventually you can delete more points by crossing line. Pick first point by holding CTRL and then pick second point.

Additional Information

Two dimensions are considered to be part of the dimension set when they have identical base line points (point where is dimension symbol). The default searching tolerance is set to 0.0001 which works in the most situations. However if the dimensions are too far from World Coordinate System 0, 0, 0 (for example 123456000, 1234567000) AutoCAD then loses calculation precision. This can happen when you work in millimeters in the real coordinate system. In this case change tolerance to 0.1 in Setting dialog window or enter DIMSETTOLERANCE.
