Enla (student)

Win32 and 64, English

Ljubomir Blanusa
Length, area, volume. Select, calculate, copy to clipboard, insert combined with any text as plain text, field, table, (dynamic) block, or simply export to TXT, CSV or JSON file.

General Usage Instructions

Start app by typing "Enla" or clicking on icon, and the palette will show up. Select lines, polylines, circles, or hatches in Autodesk® AutoCAD®, and the list will populate. Select lines, polylines, circles or hatches in AutoCAD and have their length and area values in a list.

Use variables L, A, n, cc and standard math functions, including some range functions like median(), standard deviation stdev(), or sum() with symbols Lt, Ls, At, As. You can also use if(condition, true, false), or and() and or(). When using range functions, function arguments are separated with a comma or semicolon(depending on your country).

It's fun to play, but never forget that some functions may have different syntax in formula (or Excel) then in AutoCAD, such as:

  • angle is in radians in Enla (like Excel), but when inserted as a field, AutoCAD may expect degrees
  • for decimal numbers, the decimal sign (point or comma) is set in the settings tab, and the default sign is used for the selected language
  • use expressions with caution and common sense

Known Issues

Notice: use common sense!

Values returned need further inspection. Just because some value is shown doesn't mean it is also a useful value. Objects may overlap, self-intersect, be non-closed and a source of otherwise dubious numbers.

Version History

Version Number Version Description

3.2.0

Added latest support. No change in version number.

3.4.0

-Custom vars -Repeat insert option -Fx(n) function -Added latest support -Fixed bug in export function

3.1.0

insert as block. Is now possible to use AutoCAD parametric variables.

2.1.0

Added 2017 support

2.1

minor update with new, aditional types of objects available to evaluate:

  • region
  • surface

2.0

new options allow you to:

  • type custom formula to evaluate length and area objects using standard math functions and expressions, with the place to test results (calculator)
  • store multiple math evaluations and set one to be active
  • insert text values can now be rotated for best view in different UCS
  • insert text positions can now also be central (to imaginary bounding box) and centroid (if applicable)
  • indication of potentially non-usable polylines is now both in color and in sign
  • cleaner way to turn on or off displaying of either length, area, math functions or tags

1.3

new options allow you to:

  • insert values (length and area) as text, next to its originating object
  • indicate some polylines that may have non-usable values (self-overlapping, self-intersecting, hard to close...)

1.2

new options allow you to:

  • choose default actions when you double click on item in list (zoom or copy)
  • control the way selection works when picking items in list
  • tailor the way round and sum works
  • ability to control units style and export for different localizations

1.1

  • Live properties - select object in drawing and as you move its grips, length and area values in list will change.
  • Zoom to - selected items in list, and click to zoom to extents, or double click on item in list.

1.0.0

Initial release.
