detect Master symmetrizes, creates symmetric constraints, orthogonalizes and simplifies almost every form of planar polyline or polygon.

General Usage Instructions

Bringing symmetric forms of planar polylines into geometric constraints afterwards:

  1. Symmetrize the polyline
  2. Run GCSymmetric (DM_GCSYMMETRIC) on the symmetrized polyline

 

Using Lidar extracted building footprints as landmarks:

  1. Symmetrize the polyline
  2. Simplify the polyline

Symmetrize

Symmetrize makes almost every form of planar polyline symmetric removing points if necessary.

GCSymmetric

Creates a symmetry line and geometric constraints for a symmetric form of polyline. This command doesn't remove points. The polyline should be symmetrized first.

Simplify

A symmetric form of polyline will be orthogonalized and simplified with respect to the symmetry. Edges shorter than a specified length will be replaced during simplification. The polyline should be symmetrized first.

DM_SETPROXY

Specifies the proxy settings for detect Master to check the user's subscription.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. Make sure that the Autodesk product is completely closed when running the installer.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

Additional Information

For sensor data with large number of points there is a high runtime and memory consumption to be considered. Using 64GB of physically installed RAM, there is a limit of about 200-300 points per polygon. In the range of 4GB of free physically available memory, there are about 30-50 points per polygon possible. There is a memory check included, but if you are once into the system's page file, it may take a while until the broken memory is available again.
