Getting the cable lengths

This plug-in can help to set cable lines on drawings and get real architectural lengths of cables. It also helps to find and sum duplicates and export all the info to Excel file.

General Usage Instructions

1. SetMag

This command has 5 options:

 

a) Select MText or Text from the current drawing.

b) Create content of block using the User Input. Cable labels should be divided with ';'

 

   You can use templates of cables. You are able to use the following options: 

   A1 - just on cable

   A1-10 - Cables A1,A2,A3...A10

   A1-A10 - same as above

   A1-10B - A1B,A2B...A10B

   A1-10B/2 - A1B,A3B,A5B,A7B,A9B

   You can write your own steps.

 

c) Using clipboard. You need to copy entries before the SetMag command. You can copy from Word, Excel or NotePad or from another AutoCAD Drawing.

 

d) Edit cable labels of block.

 

e) Edit length of polyline. You are able to add vertex or stretch vertex. After this you will be asked to use saved data. If you select «Yes» then you will have the same block.
    If «No» then you can create new block.

 

2. GetMag

 

This command asks you to select all drawings with AADB SetMag block

 

After this you have a lot of options to choose from.

1) Show duplicates.

2) Show duplicates in one file (.dwg).

3) Sum duplicates

4) Delete row

 

If something is wrong then you can always return to original information by using Get Original.

You also have Scale possibility. You have to use it before the end of command.

Final result is to get Excel file with all information.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
