  • Installed but not loading
Matt Harrison | October 28, 2017 Verified Download (What's this?)

I have ACA 2017, and this application is not loading... No commands are registered. If I use netload on the dll in the application plugin folder, I can get the commands. When I execute BO_Browsebimobjects command, it starts a modeless dialog that navigates to the web browser that logs in as Carmelo Garcia Gonzalez, whom I am not. There are so many clicks required to go from a product you select to the downloads, and when you get to downloads there is no clear indication as to why there are several Autocad or Revit downloads, I can only presume that they represent different versions, but there is no context to suggest that! Perhaps a small viewer would be appropriate because when you insert the block in the browser window goes away! Why make it modeless if you are going to treat it like a modal window? The browser window does not remember it's position or where it left off. So if you do place one of the Autocad blocks from the list of AutoCAD downloads and want to insert the other to check the difference; you have to open the browser again, filter again, click to get to downloads still, and remember which of the ones you did before to place the other one. All and all I would not recommend this and I miss seek.autodesk.com.

I installed it. I didn't see the tab show up in autocad. Also when I open it by typing in the commandline. The language is default in another language for some reason. How do I change this?

  • Works fine

The database is expanding constanly and that's good...

  • Works for me

I have to agree with Adam that once it's installed there's no quick instruction on getting you started. I looked at one of the screenshots and noticed that it was installed in 3D Modeling workspace; plug-ins and then had to setup an account on BIMobject.com, then go into my account on the BIMobject website to get teh API code in order to download from AutoCAD. Once all that's set up, I can easily browse thru the catalog and grab 3d models or 2d models. Very nice.

  • Sounds nice, but...

...once it's installed, where is it? How do you use it? I didn't see it in the readme...and now I can't find that, either. Poorly set up, to start out. Certainly, if I ever find out how to use it and it's good, I'll change my review. But not until then.
