Carlson Connect is a collection of routines for transferring and converting data between Autodesk® Civil 3D® and Carlson Software applications.

General Usage Instructions

Carlson Connect allows for interoperability between users of Carlson Civil and Civil 3D. The SurvCE command provides the ability to transfer point and raw data between Civil 3D and Carlson SurvCE data collection directly within Civil 3D.

With the CRDIn and CRDOut commands data can be easily shared in the desired Carlson coordinate format.

Convert drawings with Carlson points to Civil 3D points with the Pts2C3D command. Civil 3D surfaces can be exported to Carlson TIN files with the C3D2TIN command and Civil 3D alignments to CL files with the C3D2CL command.

Commands

Ribbon/Toolbar Icon Command Command Description

cc_crdin

Directly import from Carlson coordinate files to create Civil 3D points. The command will prompt for the coordinate file to import.

cc_crdout

Export Civil 3D points to Carlson coordinate files. The command will prompt for the points to export then the coordinate file to create.

cc_survce

The SurvCE command provides access to transfer point and raw data between Civil 3D and Carlson SurvCE data collection from within Civil 3D.

cc_pts2c3d

Convert existing drawings with Carlson points to Civil 3D points. The command will prompt for the selection of Carlson points then convert them to Civil 3D points.

cc_c3d2tin

Export Civil 3D surfaces to Carlson TIN files. The command will present a list of Civil 3D surfaces to choose from then the TIN file to create.

cc_c3d2cl

Export Civil 3D alignments to Carlson CL files. The command will present a list of Civil 3D alignments to choose from then the CL file to create.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
