Win64, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
A. Sectionview creation:
The procedures of section views creation, in brief, can be divided into 6 steps:
- Select alignment, sample line group & sample lines to draw section views;
- Set the number of section views per sheet (row x column number), row & column gap (spacing), paper size;
- Set the minimum distance above and below each section view's sections;
- Set the label set and section style/code set style for sections;
- Set the section view bandset;
- (Optional) Set the section view quantity table(s);
Click "Draw individual section views" to see results.
B. Sectionview layout
- Create plot area block in Model space. A plot area in Model will cover the region of a Viewport in Paper space. Plot area blocks are automatically inserted when drawing section view. User can manually add, remove, edit Plot area block region later.
- Insert Title block or Title Xref in Model space, or chose a Template layout with Title;
- Create section view layout. Each layout covers a sheet. Viewport and Title block/Title Xref will be inserted to each layout automatically;
C. Printing
- Use the App Block to Excel (lite) to export Title block attribute to Excel, edit attribute value in Excel and import back to Autodesk® AutoCAD®
- User can print directly from Model space without step B3 and publish layouts or creat a sheetset from layouts
- Previous settings are saved on exit & can be reloaded by Reload button at the bottom left.

Additional Information
1. App creates individual section views and individual section view group, not the (multiple) section view group;
2. Once created, section views position are fixed and do not automatically change by the "Update group layout" command;
3. App can use only one (1) active material table style and one (1) active volume table style per each drawing;
4. Since version 1.1.0, the app is installed to %AppData% \Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins folder instead of %ProgramData%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins folder. The first session of Civil 3D after updating will have to update some registry keys due to path change, The app will NOT work in this session. Please close and re-open Civil 3D and/or verticals. The app will work properly from the second session onwards.
Known Issues
1. Some Civil 3D built-in command for Individual sectionview group may not work properly
- Section view bandset cannot be changed after being created. If user tries to Change band set in "Section view group properties - Individual section views" dialog, then Civil 3D will crash.
- Volume Tables cannot be batch changed after being created. If user tries to Change Volume Tables in "Section view group properties - Individual section views" dialog, nothing happens when clicking ... button.
2. In some cases, the "Block to Excel lite" app cannot connect to Excel® in Microsoft® 365 (Office® 365). The NTCL Error message: "Cannot open Microsoft® Excel®" appears right after the App is called.
This error can be fixed by running "Quick Repair" on Microsoft® 365 (Office® 365). For more information, please refer to: https://www.NTCLSoft.com/home/troubleshooting
