Profile View CreatorWin64, English
General Usage Instructions
Simply use the installer file that you download from this website. Please make sure you run the installer in the administrator mode.
You can freely use this product over the trial period. After that, you will need a license key that you can obtain from www.ajorbim.com. Please note that a license key is required even for free products.
This application can be used to create multiple profile views from multiple alignments. It can also display pipe networks in the created profiles based on their distance to the alignments.
To run this application, type in MULTIPROFILEVIEW and press Enter or Space. Alternatively, you can press the application button on the toolbar.
The application comes with a partial menu customization file that creates a button in the Add-Ins tab automatically. However, you can choose to exclude this menu customization file from the package (through manually editing the PackageContents.xml file) if you prefer fewer buttons on the Add-Ins Ribbon. In this case, you should run the command through the command line.
Depending on the user-selected options, the application can also create a button programmatically on the Ribbon when it is run for the first time in the current session. This can be in Add-Ins tab, or in a separate Ajor tab. If you exclude the cuix file and choose to add buttons programmatically, you will see the application button only after running the command through command line in each session; i.e. when you really want to work with this application.
If you are using the provided cuix file or have created your own toolbar button for this app, make sure you set the app options properly to prevent it from creating another button.
Selecting Alignments to Create Profile Views
In the first tab, check the appropriate boxes to select the alignments to create profile views. If you had alignments in your selection prior to opening this app, they will be automatically checked in the list.
You can also select a name for the profile view (note the automatic fields), and description. You can put auto fields in description as well. You can also select a profile view style and layer name for the created profile views. As shown in the picture, the user can select a custom layer name using the layer of the alignment.
Creating Stacked Profile Views
To create stacked views for each profile, check the appropriate check box in the first tab. Clicking next will take you to the next tab, where you can set options for stacked views. Note that this tab is not visible if stacked views are not selected.
Setting Profile Display Options
You set the profile display options in the third (or second, if stacked views are not selected) tab. If stacked views are to be created, you will see a list of views on the top of this and the next tab to select display options from. For each view, you can choose the profiles to draw, split at or clip grid. You can also set profile description, update mode, layer and style override.
Note that each profile view can have exactly one profile to split at, and exactly one profile to clip grid.
Setting Pipe/Pressure Networks
In the next tab, the user can select the pipe or pressure network parts that are displayed in each view. This can be done by directly selecting the parts, or by the distance each part has to the selected alignments. If stacked views are selected, the top of this tab will show the list of profile views to select from.
Specifying a distance to alignment to include pipes and pressure networks makes creating multiple profile views very quick and easy. If this option is selected, the app automatically examines the horizontal distance of each network part to the closest point of each alignment. If the distance is equal to or smaller than the specified value, the part will be shown in the created profile view.
Selecting Band Set Style
Band Set Styles can be selected in the last tab of this application.
Inserting Profile Views
Also in the last tab, you can select how the created profile views will be inserted. You can choose to insert them one by one, stacked horizontally (recommended if you are not inserting them one by one), stacked vertically, or at the same location. Note that the last option is useful if you have selected the alignment layer as part of the layer of the resulting profile view, and the selected alignments are different.
The user can immediately create multiple profile views in any tab once he/she is finished selecting the proper options.
