LRailplan Railway Route Design System

Win64, English

Jiuju Rongxin Studio
LRailplan is a professional railway route design software. It is an all-in-one solution for the integrated process of railway alignment design, enabling you to design with skill and ease.

General Usage Instructions

Each project consists of two folders:

  1. Project Home Folder: A project corresponds to a folder, which is created and named by the user as the project home folder. It includes an alignment.dwg, multiple topographic maps (*.dwg), and multiple digital terrain model data (*.xyz and *.tin). The topographic map and digital terrain model data are externally referenced by the alignment. DWG to build an integrated alignment design environment. The naming of alignment. DWG should be easy to distinguish, such as “xxx project alignment.dwg."
  2. Project Plotting Folder: You can create a project plotting folder under the project home folder, which can be created and named by the user. It includes drawing convention files, bridges and tunnel data files, and custom property files (such as track spacing, etc.) required for design drawings. The cross-section parameter definition files (*.xdef), the cross-section ground line file (*.xsec can be generated by TIN interpolation), BRT files, the SLP files, etc. are used in the cross-section design. The above files are in text file format and can be edited with Notepad without the need for additional software support. The generated plot results (drawing files) are also in this folder by default.
  3. After software installation, start Autodesk® AutoCAD®, and the program will automatically load the LRailplan ribbon menu so that all functions of the software can be used normally.

Installation/Uninstallation

LRailplan is railway route design software for the AutoCAD platform. The installer is responsible for setting up the application environment.

LRailplan meets the Windows Green Installation Requirements. After self-uninstalling, the uninstaller undoes modifications to the AutoCAD environment. For the files in the installation directory, only the installed program files are deleted, and all files maintained by the user are retained.

Version History

Version Number Version Description

4.0.0

This version includes all modules such as alignment, profile and cross-section design, as well as digital terrain models. It covers all types of projects for both new railway line design and reconstruction of existing lines. In addition, compared with the previous version, the updates in this release are as follows: 1. Major Improvements to the Alignment Base Model. The single “line–curve” connection model has been upgraded to include “curve–curve” connections (egg-shaped, S-shaped, and C-shaped) as well as “line–line” connections via turnouts, providing full model support. This accommodates the construction and design of complex alignments such as railway compound curves and highway interchange ramps. 2. Comprehensive Enhancements to the Unit Anchoring Tools, adapted for complex alignment design scenarios, enabling a thorough upgrade of interactive alignment techniques. Anchoring functions such as [3-units bridging], [2-units jointing], [2-units docking], and [Solve transition curve] have been fully extended to anchoring between curves. Based on the initial positions of selected units, the command interaction intelligently captures the design intent and automatically adapts the solution type. For example, if the initial positions indicate concentric curves in the same direction, the system automatically applies egg-shaped curve anchoring; otherwise, it uses C-shaped curve anchoring, making it easy to design and construct various complex alignments. 3. Refinement of Alignment Key Points. Additional key point types have been introduced, including common tangent points (for S-shaped, egg-shaped, and C-shaped connections) and turning points (such as turnouts or intersections), meeting the need for accurate representation of alignment element relationships. 4. Adaptation to Alignment Model Improvements. Axis data exchange now adopts a new format, incorporating incomplete transition curve data while continuing to support seamless import of legacy data.

3.3.0

This version includes all modules such as alignment, profile and cross-section design, as well as digital terrain models. It covers all types of projects for both new railway line design and reconstruction of existing lines. In addition, compared with the previous version, the updates in this release are as follows: 1. Latest updates include support for AutoCAD® 2027*, covering a total of 13 platform versions from AutoCAD® 2015* to 2027*. 2. Fixed the confusion in data format support for point cloud meshing, mesh export, and other features on the AutoCAD® 2015* - 2020* platforms.

3.2.1

This version includes all modules such as alignment, profile and cross-section design, as well as digital terrain models. It covers all types of projects for both new railway line design and reconstruction of existing lines. In addition, compared with Version 3.2.0,this version fixes known upgrade and migration errors on the AutoCAD 2025*/2026* platform.

3.2.0

This version includes all modules such as alignment, profile and cross-section design, as well as digital terrain models. It covers all types of projects for both new railway line design and reconstruction of existing lines. In addition, compared with Version 3.1, it has added functions such as the generation of 3D strip-like railway alignment models and terrain profile queries.

3.1.1

This version of the software includes all modules of railway line design and digital ground model, covering all project types such as new railway design and existing line reconstruction.
