General Usage Instructions

After installation a TA Solids Extractor panel is added to the shared TA Solutions ribbon tab, with two buttons: Surface Solids and Corridor Solids.

Pick the surfaces or corridors to convert from the list, or select them in the drawing. Set the depth, layer, and color for the solids, choose whether to write into the current drawing or out to a separate DWG, then run. Solids are generated across the whole selection in one pass.

A typical use is the coordination model. Extract corridor and surface solids to an external DWG, which can then be linked into Navisworks or issued to another discipline without sharing the working Civil 3D drawing. Because the current drawing is rolled back afterwards, the same file can be re-exported on every design cycle without accumulating anything.

	TA_SE_ExtractCorridorSolids	Extract 3D solids from selected corridor models in a single operation, writing to the current drawing or to a separate DWG. A corridor that cannot be processed is skipped with the reason printed, and the rest of the selection still completes.
	TA_SE_PickTheme	Choose how every dialog in the plugin looks: the default theme, or a custom one with light or dark mode and an accent colour you set from red, green and blue sliders, previewed live as you drag them. The choice is saved and applied the next time you open any dialog.
	TA_SE_About	Show the About window: the product and version you are running, your licence status, and links to support, the documentation and the rest of the TA Solutions range.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing it. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plug-in.

You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall, exit the Autodesk product if it is running, then either rerun the installer and select the "Uninstall" button, OR go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall it as you would any other application.

Requirements: Civil 3D 2025, 2026, or 2027, 64-bit Windows. Solids are produced through Civil 3D's own extraction, so the result is ordinary AutoCAD 3D solid geometry that any downstream tool can read.

Exporting onward. The external DWG is a normal drawing file, so it links into Navisworks, attaches as an xref, or converts to IFC through your usual route with no extra step.

Please include your Civil 3D version and, where you can, a description of the surface or corridor involved and the depth setting you used. For an export that failed, the target path and whether that file was open at the time tell us most of what we need.
