CMI Tools for Autodesk® Civil 3D® 2025
Win64, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
Run the commands from the Ribbon. You will find them in the CMI Tools tab.
Find and Replace Style Components
This routine will allow you to search all Civil 3D styles in a drawing for a particular layer, text style, or block. You can also replace the layer, text style, or block as desired.
Modify All Styles
This command is used to add or remove a prefix to the names of all the styles. It can also be used to change the name of the person that created the styles.
Modify All Table Styles
This command is used to modify all of the table styles in the drawing template.
Import Styles
Import/Export styles from a drawing or template to one or more other drawings.
Export and Import Object Layers
Export the default object creation layers found in Drawing Settings, edit them in Excel, and import them back.
Import Survey Settings
Imports description keys from an Excel spread sheet.
Alignment Staking
Alignment staking creates Civil 3D points for your alignment-based key geometry. These points can be used for reports, in the drawing, or in the field.
Create Crossing Profile
Use this command to find all intersecting alignments and extract the elevations from the corresponding profiles to create a new profile.
Create Offset Profile
Use this command to create a new profile based on relationships with other adjacent alignments and profiles. This tool is great for curb return profiles.
Mark Key Points From an Alignment on a Profile
Mark points on a profile using the stations of an alignment. Obtain the elevations from a neighboring profile. Create superimposed profiles where you are in control.
Create Profile From 3D Polyline Or Points
If you do not need an entire existing ground DTM, you can use this utility to create a profile from a 3D polyline or point objects. It’s perfect for using an alignment and profile as a cross section. CMI Tools will calculate the station of each vertex or point and add this information to a layout profile.
Shift Profile
Stretch a profile positive or negative within a certain station range while maintaining the elevations. This routine can save a lot of time when making changes to the alignment and needs to update the profile to compensate.
Rename Subassemblies
When copying assemblies in Civil 3D, the subassembly names can get unruly. This routine will allow you to globally rename subassemblies based on a pattern of AssemblyName-SubassemblyName-Side.
Delete Unused Subassemblies
Use this command to delete unused assemblies in your drawing. If an assembly exists in the drawing and is not used in a corridor, it will be deleted.
Point Table Creation
Create a table within your Autodesk® AutoCAD® drawing that shows point information – northing, easting, elevation, description. You can even include stations and offsets to a reference alignment:
Export Surface to XYZ
This command quickly creates an ASCII text file that contains all the eastings, northings, and elevations for all the points used to build a surface. This command is great for creating modified large text files that spreadsheet software would not be able to handle.
Dview Twist Utilities
These utilities will allow you to set a dview twist angle simply by picking two points. You can also automatically rotate text or point objects such that they “line up” with the current twist angle.
