MEPcontent
The MEPcontent Browser gives access to MEPcontent.com, the largest BIM library, directly from your project! Uniform content of high quality for MEP engineers, contractors, and designers.

General Usage Instructions

Get started

The MEPcontent Browser app is available for Autodesk® Revit® 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020 and Autodesk® AutoCAD® 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020. After the installation, the app can be started from the MEPcontent tab within Revit or AutoCAD.

To make use of the MEPcontent Browser you will need to have a MEPcontent account which you can register from the MEPcontent website.

Use the MEPcontent Browser

The MEPcontent Browser enables you to easily to find BIM content and then use it directly in your project, in just a few clicks.

Search for content

Search for content either by using the provided search box or by filtering on category type, manufacturer, availability, and many more.

Localized content

Some articles have country-specific characteristics. In order to get the correct content for your country, be sure to select your country from the dropdown menu. Note that certain articles are only available for certain countries.

Filtering options

Make use of the various filter options to quickly find relevant articles.

 The following filters are available:

Category – select the article category you are looking for (like Electrical, Ventilation, or Sprinkler)

Manufacturer – select the manufacturer to show the available content for

Availability – include or exclude content that is out of stock

The Revit version of the MEPcontent Browser allows you to filter on the Revit family version:

Revit version – filter on Revit family version; it is not necessary to use this filter when you are using a higher Revit version than listed, as Revit is able to load files from a lower version file format.

After selecting the filters of your choice click Apply to set them or click Reset to remove them. The results of your filter selection will be shown below the search and filter area, presented in tiles.

Article types and properties

Click on an article to preview it, choose its type and see its properties. For instance, a valve can be available in different dimensions, and therewith types.

Access the manufacturer URL to see further documentation of the article on the manufacturer website.

Some articles have also 3D previews available. When available, click the 3D icon to zoom and rotate the preview of the component.

Insert, load or save articles

This section allows you to select the desired files and then load or insert them in your project, or save them to your disk for later use.

If working in AutoCAD, you can choose the Insert option to place the element in your drawing or the Save to disk option for later use.

If working in Revit, you can Load the family into your project without placing it. This can be done later via the MEPcontent Browser or Project Browser within Revit.

To place the family directly into your project, choose the Insert option. Or the Save to disk option for later use.
