Copy, Raise/Lower Profile

Copy, Raise/Lower Profile

Win64, English

Red Transit Consultants, LLC
Automates the process of copying an Autodesk® Civil3D® surface profile, then raising or lowering it a specific value.

General Usage Instructions

Often in the design process there is a need to have a reference profile above or below the surface grade. For instance in designing channels/ditches or water main, you may desire to have a reference profile shown below the surface profile as a guide in creating a new profile or piping.

Civil3D has the capability to copy a surface profile and raise/lower it; however, the process can be involved with many profiles by having to change the surface profile to static, make the copy, and reset the original back to dynamic and finally lowering the copied profile. This command automates that process. This plugin application works great for guiding the design of utilities that have to be a specific value under the existing profile, for channels or ditches that need to be designed at a specific depth below the existing profile, and more.

Additional Information

This product has been tested for both Windows 64bit systems.

Known Issues

Depending on the number of PVIs in the selected surface profile, the command may appear to freeze up. However, it will fully run, just give it some time. I have tested the command on short profiles and very long profiles created from LiDAR surfaces and both work well other than the slight ‘freeze’.
