Description

A useful collection of tools to make it easier to work with Lidar files in Autodesk® Civil 3D®. 

 

The primary tool (LidarTin) creates a Civil 3D TinSurface directly from multiple LAS/LAZ files while allowing the use of classes like (2 = Ground) to filter out irrelevant points. A good collection of companion tools help in managing and preprocessing Lidar files.

Initial version for the Autodesk App Store. Revision to include support for Civil3D 2022 Revision to include support for Civil3D 2023 Revised LidarProj command to replace “/” with “-” on coordinate systems having that special character which caused problems with the target file name.

    What a time saver. This tool is quick and easy. I love that I can clip around only the contours needed even if it overlaps multiple tiles.

    They work quickly. The process of creating a Surface from LAS or LAZ files is greatly reduced.

    The ability to reproject the LAS files to another coordinate system is very valuable.
