Focus CAM - Tool List Compare
Mac OS, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
- In Autodesk® Fusion®, open two or more files containing cutting tools in CAM Tool Libraries.
- Run the Focus CAM - Compare Tool Lists command from the Manufacture -> Utilities -> Add-Ins menu.
- Select Files 1 and 2 that you would like to compare from the dropdowns.
- Click OK
- Fusion opens a persistent palette window showing the tools unique to each file and tools that are in both files, based on the Description of each tool. Where tools are in both files, the parameters of each tool are compared, and differences between tools are highlighted.
Some sample workflows:
- Tool library files: Maintain one or more files that contain a list of standard tool assemblies. These tool library files can be edited by editing the tool lists, and are revision-controlled by saving the files in Fusion. This workflow has some substantial advantages over the standard Cloud Tool Library functionality, which doesn't currently have much in the way of revision control, permissions control, backup, or protection against accidental deletion.
- Compare the tools in a job being set up in a machine to the tools in the job getting torn down, to determine which tools to adjust, which to take out, and which to leave in.
- Check whether new programs are making good use of existing standard tool assemblies.
- Check newer versions of library files against old versions to determine which changes have been made over time, and what to watch out for.
