The Workflow for ExactFlat Online 3D to 2D Flattening is documented in simple-to-follow video tutorials found in the online Help system. The User Interface layout also follows a sequential left-to-right path making it easy for users to determine the next step after any operation. Once users have a model in Fusion 360 the process is as follows

1. Create 3D Pieces from faces in Fusion 360 and Publish the 3D pieces (via the Plugin) for flattening in ExactFlat Online.

2. Flatten the 3D pieces into 2D flat pattern pieces with ExactFlat Online.

◦ Select the Pieces to Flatten
◦ Refine the Piece Mesh for improved accuracy and flattening performance
◦ Flatten the piece with a single mouse click or touch on your tablet
◦ View the resulting flat pieces and Optimize areas of high strain or sag
◦ Add Seams and Notches to your pieces then arrange them for plotting

3. Download the patterns and edit or send them directly to your cutter. (subscription required).

Install:

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store has already installed the app/plug-in.

OR, simply double-click the MSI to install the app.

Uninstall:

You can unload the add-in without uninstalling it by clicking the "Stop" button when the add-in is selected in the list box on the "Add-Ins" tab of the "Scripts and Add-Ins" dialog.

Unchecking "Run on Startup" causes the add-in not to be loaded in future sessions of Fusion 360.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button.

OR, you can uninstall it from 'Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features' (Windows 7/8.1/10), just as you would uninstall any other application from your system.

ExactFlat Online can only flatten surfaces. Please make sure you do not publish enclosed volumes (ex. sphere or cube with no cuts) for use with ExactFlat Online.

ExactFlat Online Version 2 (the original solution) retires on Sept 30, 2016.  Please make sure you have a NEW account on ExactFlat Online Version 3 before attempting to use the plugin. Please visit www.exactflat.com/online, click the "upgrade to V3.0" link and then "Register." to get a new account.  

Faces must exist in the same "bodies" in the Fusion 360 model in order to be combined into pieces with the ExactFlat Online Plugin.

Large models (more than 8,000 triangles) can not be read by ExactFlat Online. Please use the Mesh size controls in the "Publish" tools to reduce the mesh if needed.
