The Machining Essentials Fusion Addin supports the following features:
Create Panel (Machining Essentials Tab):
- Selection Sets from Color: Create selection sets based on face colors for easier part manipulation.
- Sketch Hole Profiles: Generate sketches for each recognized hole profile in a new Fusion document. This feature requires access to the Fusion Manufacturing Extension. You can learn more about the extension in this link: https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/manufacturing-extension
Inspect Panel (Machining Essentials Tab):
- Prismatic Feature Analysis: Identify and analyze holes and pockets, including intersecting holes and feature proximities, and generate a detailed feature report table. This feature requires access to the Fusion Manufacturing Extension. You can learn more about the extension in this link: https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/manufacturing-extension
- Measure: Quickly measure distances, angles, and more with precision.
- Section Analysis: Create cross-sectional views to thoroughly analyze internal features.
- Minimum Radius Analysis: Identify the smallest radii on your model to ensure manufacturability.
- Accessibility Analysis: Check the accessibility of features for various machining processes.
Commands
Installation/Uninstallation
Install:
1. Download the installer from the Autodesk App Store.
2. Right-click on the "Downloads" folder and select "Open in Finder".
3. Right-click on the "MachiningEssentials-macos.pkg" -> "Open With" -> "Installer".
Uninstall:
You can unload the add-in without uninstalling it by clicking the "Stop" button when the add-in is selected in the list box on the "Add-Ins" tab of the "Scripts and Add-Ins" dialog.
Unchecking "Run on Startup" causes the add-in not to be loaded in future Fusion sessions.
- Navigate to the ./ApplicationsPlugins folder and select the app bundle you want to uninstall
- Either drag the app bundle to the Trash or right-click and select “Move to Trash”
- Right-click on the Trash-Can and select “Empty Trash”
- If you prefer keystrokes, you can also just select the app bundle and then hit Command+Delete to move the app to Trash, then empty the Trash and the app will be removed.
