Advanced HTD Timing Pulley Generator

Advanced HTD Timing Pulley Generator

Win64, English

LayerFusion
Easily create precise, customizable HTD timing pulleys in Autodesk® Fusion®.

General Usage Instructions

1. Getting Started

After installing the add-in, you can easily access it directly within Fusion.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Launch Fusion and open your desired project.
  2. Navigate to the Create menu.
  3. Select Advanced HTD Pulley Generator to open the generator dialog.

2. Using the Pulley Generator

Pulley Creation

In the generator dialog box, customize your pulley using the following options:

  • Tooth Pitch: Select the HTD pitch (3M, 5M, 8M, 14M, or 20M).
  • Number of Teeth: Specify the number of teeth on your pulley.
  • Bore Diameter: Enter the diameter of the pulley's central bore.
  • Belt Width: Set the width compatible with your HTD belt.
  • Flange Thickness: Define the thickness of the flanges on either side of the pulley.
  • Fillet Radius (rt): Adjust the fillet radius of the tooth crest (automatically constrained within recommended limits).

Once parameters are configured, click OK to generate the pulley in your Fusion workspace.

Customization Options Explained

  • Tooth Pitch: Determines the pitch spacing and scale, impacting pulley size and load capacity.
  • Number of Teeth: Adjusts pulley diameter and gear ratio.
  • Bore Diameter: Matches the shaft or axle dimension the pulley fits onto.
  • Belt Width: The width of the belt; common sizes include 9 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm, 30 mm, 50 mm, and 85 mm.
  • Flange Thickness: Helps maintain belt alignment and reduces the risk of belt slip.
  • Fillet Radius (rt): Improves tooth strength and belt engagement. See the table below for valid values.

Disclaimer

This software generates highly accurate pulley designs based on standardized HTD pulley parameters. However, always verify generated pulley specifications independently before manufacturing, especially when used for safety-critical applications, industrial equipment, professional purposes, or scenarios where mechanical failure could result in injury or significant financial loss. The developer assumes no responsibility or liability for inaccuracies or issues arising from pulley designs generated by this software.

Installation/Uninstallation

Install:

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store has already installed the app/plug-in.

OR, simply double-click the MSI to install the app.

You should then see a toolbar called RoboDK in the MODEL workspace.

Uninstall:

You can unload the add-in without uninstalling it by clicking the "Stop" button when the add-in is selected in the list box on the "Add-Ins" tab of the "Scripts and Add-Ins" dialog.

Unchecking "Run on Startup" causes the add-in not to be loaded in future sessions of Fusion.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button.

OR, you can uninstall it from 'Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features' (Windows 10/11), just as you would uninstall any other application from your system.
