Win64, English

Autodesk, Inc.
The App enables Autodesk® Fusion® users to assign individual material and parameter profiles and export native build files for all available TRUMPF TruPrint metal powder bed fusion 3D printers.

General Usage Instructions

Please note that you need to have access to a license of TruTops Print and have the TruTops Print Service Launcher running on the same computer. Other build-processors are not supported by this Add-In. To obtain a license please contact TRUMPF.

  • Run Fusion
  • Go to the Extension dialog and gain access to the "Manufacturing Extension"
  • Load this Add-In (see "Additional Information" section)
  • Open an existing Design or Create a new Component in the "Design" Workspace
  • Switch to the "Manufacture" workspace and switch to the "Additive" Tab
  • Open the "Setup" Dialog
  • Create a new Setup (operation type = Additive) with any TRUMPF TruPrint machine. The TruPrint machines will be listed under the "Fusion Library" tab.
  • Select the "Trumpf Generic Print Setting" from the Fusion library of print settings.

Once an additive setup is created and part arrangement actions are complete, you will see a new panel named "TRUMPF TRUTOPS" on the Additive tab. The Add-In dialog has seven categories and you will be guided through the workflow from top to bottom.

1) Connection Status:

Connect to the TruTops Print Service Launcher by clicking on "Connect". Please leave the Host Address as is. Currently, the TruTops Print Service Launcher only supports running the server on the same machine as Fusion is running on, therefore there is no need to change the Host Address.

2) Printer:

The Add-In will automatically detect the printer you have selected in your additive setup. Please note that you have to have a material and parameter defined under your

machine in TruTops Print (see points 3 and 4).

3) Material:

The Add-In will load the list of available materials from TruTops Print. Click on the material that should be used with the additive setup. If you do not have a material defined yet, go to TruTops Print -> Parameter management -> Edit parameter and click on the "plus" icon to create a new material.

4) Build Strategy:

Similar to point 3, you need to define a parameter in TruTops Print before you can use it through the Add-In. Click on the build Strategy that should be used with the additive setup.

5) Build File Type:

Click on the version of the ".WZA" file you want to export as the build file. The version that is set as the default in TruTops Print will be auto-selected.

6) Create Job File:

An overview of your selections will be shown. You can click on "Create Job File" to start exporting the ".WZA" file. The progress will be displayed in the "Build Log" window. After the creation is done, you can click on "Save job file" in the build log window to save the ".WZA" file on your computer. You can open the .WZA file in the "Build File Viewer" in TruTops Print to validate the created toolpath.

- OR, rerun the installer and select the "Uninstall" button.
