CIMCO Edit Verify
Win64, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
To launch the CIMCO Simulation window, click CIMCO Verify in the ribbon bar under the Action category or in the Utilities tab. The CIMCO Simulation Window now loads and simulates a toolpath based on all setups that are part of the active NC program. Tools are loaded automatically as well based on the Fusion tool table and active tool number in each setup. All models, fixtures and stock models are also loaded based on the selection within each individual setup.
When the simulation window is open, all CIMCO's advanced simulation features are available through the simulation window ribbon bar. You can now
- Toggle the visibility of models.
- Color stock by operation or by tool.
- Change the quality of the stock model and enable True Vision for pixel-perfect precision.
- Right-click on the stock model to use the 'Jump to Cut' feature.
- Export stock to STL.
- Use zoom window to get a precision cutout of the stock model(s)
- Use Compare to highlight the difference between the stock model and the workpiece model.
- Use a cross section to get a cross-sectional view of the stock model and workpiece.
- Use the toolpath dropdown to toggle advanced backplot features and animation modes. For instance, color the toolpath by feedrate
- Enable various stopping conditions for stopping during animation playback.
- Open collision checking and get a report of all collisions.
- Change the view mode.
- Enable controls such as axis control and operation list.
- Switch between backplot and machine simulation mode.
- Export a .CimcoSimData presentation file for standalone simulation. Ideal for shop floor simulations.
Next to the CIMCO Verify button, the user will also find a CIMCO Edit button in Fusion. Click this button to launch a CIMCO Edit NC simulation (requires a separate installation of CIMCO Edit). When a CIMCO Edit installation is detected, a third Setup button is available. This setup, most importantly, allows you to change the work offsets that are exported to CIMCO Edit. By default, these are automatically inferred from Setup WCS.
Our general recommended workflow is to use CIMCO Verify for the extended simulation features while working in Fusion and developing the toolpath operations in addition to Fusion's internal simulation, and then use CIMCO Edit NC simulation as a final verification step. CIMCO Verify and CIMCO Edit run on the same setup and use the same familiar simulation window, so the internal CIMCO Verify simulation window acts as a fast testing mechanism of the CIMCO Edit setup, which gives the user more confidence that everything will be exported and simulated correctly when they click CIMCO Edit.
Commands
Installation/Uninstallation
Installation:
The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. Or, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.
Uninstallation:
You can unload the add-in without uninstalling it by clicking the "Stop" button when the add-in is selected in the list box on the "Add-Ins" tab of the "Scripts and Add-Ins" dialog.
Unchecking "Run on Startup" causes the add-in not to be loaded in future Fusion sessions.
To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button.
Or, you can uninstall it from 'Control Panel/Programs and Features' (Windows 10/11), just as you would uninstall any other application from your system.
