The plugin creates worm meshes (worm as an archimedean screw) for various sets of parameters.


Available features:

  • module (m): <0.5; 20> [mm],
  • clearance factor (fc): <0.1; 0.2> (factor = mfc),
  • pressure angle (α): <15.0; 30.0> [°],
  • type of worm tooth’s view (normal/axial),
  • numer of worm threads (zw): <1; 6>,
  • worm pitch diameter (dw) [mm],
  • displays value of q factor (q = dw/m),
  • worm length (l) [mm],
  • teeth direction (right/left),
  • worm gear teeth number (z2): <10; 200>,
  • worm gear backlash (b) [mm],
  • worm gear profile shift factor (x): <-0.2; 0>,
  • worm gera thickness (t) [mm],
  • crowning factor (cdf) <1; 1.1> (hob cutter pitch diameter = cdfdw),
  • edges finishing type (none/chamfer/fillet/wrap angle),
  • chamfer side length (S) – always 45° [mm],
  • fillet radius (S) [mm],
  • wrap angle (γ) [°],
  • showing preview (none, 3D, 3D with descriptions (1)),
  • showing estimated time (rounded up to first 10 seconds),
  • showing progress with ability to cancel,
  • save, load, autoload, reset parameters,
  • creating shafts in a new document,
  • adding joints (2),
  • adding axes,
  • info icon redirecting to the product's data (3),
  • information about files used by the plugin ("Information" tab),
  • link to the privacy policy


Execution of the plugin for default settings (m3, zw2-z30) takes about 1 and a half minutes on i7/8GB RAM/512GB SSD computer. Most of the time is consuming by calculating the groove of worm gear. The number of worm gear teeth has less impact on time. During the operation a progress bar with the current step is visible and you can always click the "Cancel" button.



The program doesn't check interferences automatically and doesn't perform any analysis of prepared components. Please make sure that the necessary check is done before releasing this onto production. (2) Formulas for defining motion link and performing motion analysis are available in the description of component - see the first video about the update,

(3) When you don't have permissions to the plugin directory this icon won't be shown but you'll read on the "Information" tab where the plugin directory is and what permissions you need to add.

    Вполне хорошая визуализация. Точная геометрия. 

    Из минусов - не формирует таблицу параметров. Очень бы пригодилось.
