Description

Note: This is the Mac OS release of Save As SVG. For the Windows release, click Win64 near the top of the page (under our logo, where it says OS).

The Save as SVG option will create an SVG file with configurable color-coding to identify perimeter, cutouts, insets, texts, construction and center lines. Options are available to modify both the line weight and colors for all line types.

Available line colors are Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Magenta, White, Gray and Black.

The command is conveniently available in the context menu of a sketch object in the browser tree alongside the Save as DXF option provided by Autodesk® Fusion®. You will be prompted to enter a filename and location.

The Color selection provides a Fill Faces option which when set will fill the enclosing faces using the corresponding color settings for Perimeter, Cutouts, Inset or Labels.

See detailed product description here Save As SVG

See App Store Installs for help with new or updated installs.

Use the power and convenience of the Fusion sketch editor or simply project a sketch from a component in your model. Whatever the source, Save as SVG will create an SVG file image you can use for your Laser cutting or view from a browser.

Note: The SVG file created will be the standard 96 ppi by default matching the scale used by Fusion, browsers and other modern applications. For older applications such as Illustrator, you may need to set the Scale 72 ppi to match their expected scale when importing.

  • Not the SVG you want for CAM
Patrick Campbell | April 18, 2023 Verified Download (What's this?)

Was hoping this would take my part face or sketch and create a simple outline of the part so I could generate cuts in CAM. The face had holes and cutouts, so the SVG was a combination of filled geometry for the outer profile and line geometry for the cutouts. For machine path CAM, I just want the lines, curves and splines. No need for the filled geometry. CAM did not like it one bit. Perhaps I didn't have the settings just right, but there should be a CAM export that just gives me line geometry at 0 width.

Sorry for your misunderstanding. This utility, as described in the documentation, will export a Fusion sketch as an SVG file. If the sketch includes cutouts and holes then the SVG file will include those details. An email to support always gets a response and feature requests are always considered. ** Update ** The latest app update provides the capabilities referred to in your feedback comment. The next time you run the app the update will auto download and install. Icarus

  • Quick, Easy, Great Support!

Purchased on 3.30 as Fusion 360 was updating APIs so the color function was having issues, but sent 1 email to support and 1 hour later they fixed it plus more!!

    Definitely a must have!

    Thanks!

  • Works as advertised!

Exports a drawing I can import into SheetCAM and then cut with FireControl on my Langmuir Crossfire Pro. The process is to create my design in sheet metal then create a flat pattern. Select the flat pattern and then Create Sketch then Finish Sketch. Right click on the newly created sketch in the flat pattern and select Save as SVG. The SVG can then be imported into SheetCAM. The only thing I would ask for is more sophisitcation when setting the file name. Not sure if it is possible within the Fusion 360 framwork but it would be nice if it opened a file dialog so I could select to overwrite or create a name similar to an existing file. This is a minor issue but a nice to have.

  • it's good but..

i like this SVG exporter very much but as the updates keep coming it took away something and i don't know how to fix it

i was apple to export the file and import it into my othe program for laser cutting and i was able to do single lines without having to have them in a full "loop" but now when i import them into my other program it reads it as an error and won't import it

please if you adre able to fix this it would be much appreciated

I had same issue with v1.19. Had to go into inkscape and select/ungroup then change line thickness to 1 px before would then work on Laser cutter. Downloaded v.1.20 and now will not work at all. Fusion 360 throws an error 'Error occurred and MapBoards.log was created'. (360 v2.0.9144)

The Add on does exactly what you need it to, in the easiest way possible. Getting help from this creater was 100000000% better than dealing with Fusion 360 support they could take a few lessons from you!  Well done! Thank you very much for your help and this fantastic add on!
