The DraftAid add-in requires an external client for complete functionality. Upon clicking any button in the DraftAid ribbon, you will be prompted to download and install the DraftAid external client, called the DraftAid Portal.

To generate a drawing, open the .ipt file in Autodesk® Inventor®, and then click the "Generate Drawing" button. Once the drawing is generated, it will be downloaded to the same folder as the .ipt by default. You may also drag and drop the .ipt file into the DraftAid Portal for the AI to start generating the drawing.

To generate multiple drawings, select all the .ipt files in your folder, then drag and drop them into the DraftAid Portal. Note that drawing generation will not block your Inventor application. You may continue to use Inventor while the drawing generation happens in parallel.

To open the DraftAid Portal from the add-in, click on "Open App & View Drawings." The "Settings" button allows you to choose the drawing download location and how to handle duplicate drawings.

The free version limitations are:

• A maximum of 50 drawings per month
• A maximum of 10 drawings generated in parallel
• Access to the standard DraftAid template
• Drawings with the standard DraftAid style
• Drawing generation in the low-priority queue
• Support for single solid body models only
• Support for limited-complexity parts
• Support for .ipt files only

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
