Once the application installed, please follow the instructions below to use the application,

1.      Open Inventor and save the document

2.      BIMDeX tab will be available in the ribbon toolbar and from there the user can select the IFC Import option

3.      Once the Import IFC option is clicked, it will ask the user to select the IFC file

4.      Upon the selection of a valid IFC file, the user can import the IFC file in Inventor

5.      The user can include or exclude materials by using the exclude materials option

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.

You can unload the plugin without uninstalling it by unchecking the "Loaded/Unloaded" check box associated with the plugin in the Inventor Add-In Manager. You may have to restart Inventor to completely unload the application.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, you can uninstall it from 'Control Panel/Programs and Features' (Windows 7/8.1/10), just as you would uninstall any other application from your system.

The following are the known issues & limitations in the product,

There is a limitation with importing railings inside the IFC file. Inside railing components contains a single element with solid & mesh. Our tool will import a single element with solid or mesh

IFC files generated from BIMDeX IFC Exporter for Inventor will not get imported in IFC Importer for Inventor

IFC Importer for Inventor is only compatible with IFC 2*3 files which are generated from Revit, Inventor, AutoCAD Architecture, and other software products.

IFC files generated from Mechanical software like Inventor and other software products will have geometry issues
