The threadModeler command is only active in parts. You find it in the coolOrange ribbon (picture 1).

Workflow:

• Make an Inventor part with a geometry where you want to put a thread
• Call Inventor command Thread from the ribbon "3D model"
• Select geometry where you want to put the thread. In the Thread dialog specify the Thread Type you want to insert. E.g. ISO Metric Profile
• When you press the OK button, a thread pattern is put on the geometry.
• Call command threadModeler from the coolOrange ribbon (picture 1).
• The threadModeler Control dialog opens.
• Select the thread feature in the Inventor browser or the model geometry. The found thread is inserted in the list of selected threads (picture 2).
• Select the 'Thread Sketch Tempate' e.g. ISO Template.ipt on the top of the dialog.
• Remark: There are 2 templates available: 
  • BSW Template.ipt
  • ISO Template.ipt
• In the 'Pitch Offset' you can modify the 'Pitch Offset' up to 10%.
• If you use the threadModeler for a 3D print, in section 'Manufacturing Process' you can select the Manufacturing Process you want to apply and the clearance is set. You also can set a custom clearance up to 5 mm.
• In section 'Thread Chamfer' you can select to have a chamfer at the start, end or both sides. In field 'Size (mm) you can set a chamfer up to 10 mm.
• Press the OK button and the thread will be modeled (picture 3).

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plugin from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plugin. Or, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.

You can unload the plugin without uninstalling it by unchecking the "Loaded/Unloaded" check box associated with the plugin in the Inventor Add-In Manager. You may have to restart Inventor to completely unload the application.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, you can uninstall it from 'Control Panel/Programs and Features' (Windows 10/11), just as you would uninstall any other application from your system.

Note: You might need to unblock threadModeler and set the 'Load Behavior' to 'Load Automatically' in the Inventor Add-In Manager when you use the threadModeler for the first time after installation.

• You might need to unblock threadModeler and set the 'Load Behavior' to 'Load Automatically' in the Inventor Add-In Manager (picture 4) when you use the threadModeler for the first time after installation.
• threadModeler cannot handle threads that are inserted with the hole command.
• Freeforms are not supported.
• The plug-in does not work on features with iMates. However, once the threads are generated, iMates can be reapplied.
