Easy Properties

Easy Properties

Win32 and 64, English

Add, Modify, delete and copy-paste i-Properties in multiple files.

General Usage Instructions

After installing the add-in, Easy Properties will appear in the Tool TAB of the assembly,  the part and the drawing RIBBON. You can open the Easy Properties command form by clicking on the button in the active ribbon. Closing can be done by clicking the close button upper right or by pressing the escape key.

There is some similarity with the iProperties command form but there are some great advantages.

On the left side of the form is the browser area, where the selectable files in easy properties are shown.

Below the browser area are two buttons, one to load more files and the other to delete the file list. Notice that there is always one file present, namely the active file.

On the right side is the property selection area.

The summary, project and status properties can be disabled or enabled with a checkbox.

On the bottom of this area are three buttons. The first one copies all the enabled properties to the memory. The second button pastes all the enabled properties from the memory to the cells and the third button erases all the cells of this TAB.

Below the property, selection area is a label with the filename of the selected file.

On the bottom are two buttons and a LED lamp. The first button recalls the properties from the selected file. The button on the far right saves all changes to the file.

These buttons are only for summary, project and status properties, the custom properties are immediately saved to the file when modified, added, or deleted.

The LED lamp becomes red when the program is busy and turns back to green when idle. At the same time, some buttons become disabled. You will notice this only with bigger files

How does it work?

You can add, delete and modify the values of the existing properties as you would do with iProperties.

The real advantage comes with the fact that you can open more files and copy/paste properties from one file to another. Click on a file in the browser area and the file becomes the selected file in Easy Properties. The properties of that particular file become revealed in the property selection area. As a file is selected you can scroll with the mouse through the available files and see their properties.

Those files do not have to be in the working directory. By selecting the checkboxes you can enable or disable the copy or paste function.

Only Autodesk® Inventor® parts, Inventor assemblies, Inventor idw-files and Inventor dwg-files can be opened in easy properties.

The files must have a unique filename or easy properties will ignore the theme and only the first file found will be opened and available.
