Create a code, name or number for an occurrence inside an assembly file.

General Usage Instructions

HOW DOES IT WORK.

Start Autodesk® Inventor®, select a correctly configured project and open an assembly file. A correctly configured project means that the project is not the default project and there must be a project path defined.

Then start EASY TAGGER by double-clicking on the exe file.

In the top left corner is the combobox to enter a tag number. You can use up to 10 characters consisting out of letters and numbers. If the combobox is empty it will be corrected with the string "000000".

Below this combobox is the info textbox, which gives messages about the executed command.

On the lower left is the textbox with a list of all TAG numbers in the project. The TAG numbers will appear in alphabetical order. If you select a TAG number in the list and the according part is in the active assembly, this part will be highlighted.

On the top right are the assembly tools. These tools are only enabled while an assembly file is active.

The first button creates a TAG number. Enter a TAG number in the combobox and click the SET TAG button, you will be asked to select a part. After selecting the part, the TAG number is created. If the TAG number is already in use you will be forced to use another TAG number.

With the second button, you will be able to read the TAG number of a selected part. Click the button and select a part in the graphic area. The info textbox shows the TAG number or a message that there is no TAG number.

The third button deletes a TAG number. Click the button and select a part in the graphic area. The TAG number will be deleted, and the info textbox gives the message "Tag Deleted" or if there was no TAG number the textbox gives the message "No TAG number".

The fourth button refreshes the content of the TAG number textbox.

On the lower right are the drawing tools. These tools are only enabled while a drawing file is active.

The TAG DWG button places a leader note with the TAG number on the drawing. Click the button and select a curve in a drawing view. A leader note will be created with the TAG number as a text string.

The REFRESH button refreshes all leaders which are connected to occurrences with a TAG number. After modifying the TAG numbers in the assembly file, it is easy to update all leader notes with just one command but... there are some known cases that the command will not work.

In case the TAG number is deleted and in case the leader note is connected to some projected curves, the LIST DWG button places a general note with all the TAG numbers in the drawing (not the project)
