Adding Drainage Holes Made Easy with C3DT Galva Holes App

Beam Ends:
Start by adding drainage holes in beam bodies, perfect for applications like mitered frames where pockets can form. On the "Beam Ends" tab, adjust the number of holes, hole diameter, offset from the edge, and spacing between holes. You can also define the hole positions from the side of the body to the tangent or center. Simply select the geometry, click the profile edge and receiving surface, and adjust the hole placement using the displayed width and spacing information. Once all parameters are set, click "Add Holes", and the holes will be placed in the desired locations. This process can be easily repeated on other faces and profiles.

Eccentric Holes:
Next, add eccentric drainage holes to beams. This tab allows you to define hole spacing between two tangent edges, the diameter, and the overlength value, useful when the hole depth exceeds the face thickness (for example, near the rounded inner edge of an H-beam). Choose between Single-Select or Multi-Select to define your selection, then select the corner faces for hole placement and continue by selecting the surface through which the hole will pass.

Center Holes:
For center holes in round, square, or rectangular tubes, select the "Center Holes" tab. You can predefine hole diameters or define them by offset, and even add overlength to the holes. For round tubes, select the inner cylinder surface, then the receiving surface. For square or rectangular tubes, select two opposite edges of the profile and the receiving surface. This method also works for sheet metal parts.

Delete Holes:
To remove holes, simply click "Delete Holes" on any tab. Select the feature to delete, right-click to confirm, and the app will remove the selected holes.
