Easy Bolts
Win64, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
Easy Bolts for Autodesk® Inventor®
Use
Start Easy Bolts by clicking the "Place Bolts" button in the Assemble Tab of the ribbon and the Easy Bolts command window will appear.
Before you can place bolted connections with Easy Bolts there should be a part with holes present in the assembly. Easy Bolts needs a circular edge to connect the bolt to.
The bolted connection can be configured in several ways.
The diameter of the bolted connection and the bolt length can be adjusted by a list box.
The type of bolt can be adjusted by clicking on the body of the bolt.
A bolt ISO4014, ISO4017, ISO4762, ISO10642 or a stud bolt DIN 976-1 B can be selected.
The head of the bolted joint can be changed by clicking on the area.
You can choose whether to install a washer. The bolt ISO10642 which has a countersunk head obviously does not allow the washer.
The end of the bolt connection can be changed by clicking on that area.
There are five possible configurations namely: washer, lock washer and nut, washer and nut, lock washer and nut, or nut or nothing.
It is also possible to calculate a bolt length based on a selected bolt connection length. This is done by using the "Measure" button at the bottom of the figure. Successively an initial plane and an end plane will be requested and if the configuration is possible and calculated a green V will appear next to the button. If further adjustments are made the green V will disappear and a new measurement will be required before a bolt can be placed correctly.
At the bottom of the figure is a code representing the selected bolted connection.
To the right of the command form are the radio buttons to choose which type of model will be placed.
If Virtual parts or Normal parts are selected then there is will be a combo list available to select a material.
At the bottom right is the "Place bolt" button to start placing the bolted connection.

The bolt types to choose from is limited to those listed above and this cannot be modified. To place bolted connections from the content center, the original ISO and DIN families of the content center must be loaded and accessible in the project.
As with all Easy add-ins, the project directory for Easy bolts must be determined in the project file. It is therefore not possible to use Easy bolts in default projects or in poorly configured projects.
