This is an Autodesk® Inventor® based product catalog following the Engineered 3D approach. It helps data for review, sizes the product per user's engineering input, and provides a concise 3D model.

General Usage Instructions

  1. Open the the ipt file from the following folder location "%Programdata%/Autodesk/ApplicatioPlugins/DonWenServices_Engineered3DCatalog.bundle/Contents" folder.

  2. To view all sizes of a model in the catalogue: at any time, just select the model size from the size field in the "Selected Product Data" section, related data will be updated, and optionally, the 3D model can be updated.

  3. To size a shaft coupling: as indicated in blue in the text boxes in the UI, fill in data of Power, Speed, Service Factor and Shaft Diameter, then click "Size Coupling" command to run the calculation, size the product, and optionally update the 3D model.

  4. In a case where no size can meet the user's requirements, the app will highlight possible field to be adjusted, and prompt with message indicating invalid user input, or no size available in the catalog.

Commands

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Inventor App Store has already installed the app/plug-in.

You can unload the plugin without installing it by unchecking the "Load" checkbox associated with the plugin in the Inventor Add-In Manager.

You may have to restart Inventor to completely unload the application. To remove the plugin completely, RMB click and uninstall the application using the App Store Manager tool, located on the Ribbons Tools tab > Options Panel.

Additional Information

Note: Please note that Inventor files are NOT downward compatible.

To stop the app being activated upon opening the model ipt file, follow the menus as "iLogic -> Event Triggers -> After Open Document", remove item "CouplingSelector" from there. Please don't change parameters with the Parameters (fx) command in Inventor, or through the model itself. That might disturb the relationship among parameters.

Known Issues

As trial version, commands on the right side (Export 2D DXF, Save as XML, HTML Report) are not implemented. They can be done for our clients.

The ipt can be used directly in Autodesk® Inventor® 2014. and next releases
