The BodyBuilding command is intended to orient precisely one or several solid bodies using existing part geometry and is a good addition to the existing Move Body command functionality.
Orientation transformation is determined by two geometric objects (From – To). E.g., you can mate planar faces or work planes, you may orient linear edges of two bodies to lie on the same line or make two round edges be concentric, etc. This is similar to assembly constraints; however, the target objects are solid bodies, not components, and the result is not associative, i.e. BodyBuilding command does not create any constraints.
For each operation the Move Body feature is created, so you can undo it or edit this feature using the Autodesk® Inventor® UI.
