I've downloaded the express version and have played with it for a few days now. My biggest issue is that the sections used are completely separate from the Inventor sections and as such the naming conventions are totally different. There is very little scope to change this, that I can see.

It's early days but this would be a hands down winner and a massive improvement to Inventor if it was integrated into Frame Generator.

I got this error when I installed it. Can you help me fix this?

A great tool! We'll buy the premium version for our next bigger project. However, I have to agree with some of the other reviews: Inventor should actually come with something like this. It's simply a great time-saver.

Great solution for structural steel design - with connections, stairs, automatic drawings and everything we need in our company. SolidSteel is just as the Frame Generator should be ;) Unfortunately, the full version costs extra...

The software works well. At the beginning I had some problems finding the American profiles in imperial units. These are mixed with the metric units. Technical support responded very quickly and told me it would be fixed in the future - so no problems here.

The steel connections are awesome and very fast to place. BOM lists are good aswell. It's a shame that you have to buy this tool separately - it would be great if it came with Inventor, which we already use in our company. But never mind - that's just the way it is.

For years I've been breaking my back and doing structural steel with Inventor and now I find this awesome tool. It's a must for anyone who does steel design with Inventor - it works absolutely great and saves an incredible amount of time. All the standard connections alone, such as end plates, gusset plates and so on. Awesome!

I don't understand why Autodesk delivers something like the Frame Generator and not this SolidSteel tool - there are probably tens of thousands of users out there who are struggling and don't even know that this great tool exists. To Autodesk: Why? To Klietsch: Good job!

I downloaded SolidSteel yesterday. The installation worked well - after some issues at the beginning I found their YouTube videos and I learned quick how the software works. Because there is a limit in the free version, I am going to purchase the full version when my next project starts. This tool is super powerful and offers so many possibilties - I think its better than Advance Steel!

I have now tested the software for five days, doing everyday tasks, and I think the developers have done a good job. The functions are useful, and there is a manual and a YouTube channel with good tutorials. The software deserves five stars, but I have taken off one star because you can only choose from English and German. It would be better if its available in Spanisch.
