Convert vertex animation to skin weights and joints. The main use is to compress mesh animations, such as a blendshape-driven animation or a cloth/muscle simulation, for the use in game engines.

General Usage Instructions

The vastSolver can be used as (1) a compact GUI tool or (2) a Autodesk® Maya® command. 

In the GUI mode, the user has to select a target mesh and set solving parameters. If the mesh animation is suitable for the solving, the tool will solve and set up mesh and joints (with "_vast" appended to the mesh name) in the scene. 

The Maya command vast is provided. The commands flags are the same as the parameters displayed in GUI.

The installer that ran when you downloaded this plug-in from Autodesk App Store has already installed the plug-in.
Windows only: To uninstall this plug-in, Simply rerun the installer by downloading it again from Autodesk App Store, and select the 'Uninstall' button, or you can uninstall it from 'Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features' (Windows 7/8.1/10), just as you would uninstall any other application from your system. The panel on the Plug-ins tab will not be removed until Maya is restarted.

OSX: To uninstall this plug-in, simply delete the module directory from your system. The panel on the Plug-ins tab will not be removed until Maya is restarted.

Additional Information

The plugin supports Maya versions 2018, 2019 and 2020.
